Day 2 - 30th June 2009

Our first morning there,
woke up to a beautiful sunny day, freshen up and off we go searching for breakfast.
Walked around for a good 20 mins and finally settled for vegetarian Dosa(Singapore is Thosai) and Poori. Both were good and different from back home. Total spent RS70. Finished up and headed to the streets wondering where to go and what to do...
Decided to go to Ulsoor Lake as I remembered this conversation I had with a Indian guy who is from here while doing and event back home. He named a few places to go and Ulsoor Lake was one of it. Approached by a Taxi (like Tuktuk) driver haggled the price from RS200 and finally agreed on RS150 for a 10km drive.

Here is the view of Ulsoor Lake...

Reach destination but think we set too high an expectation and was disappointed when we saw the place. Set down for 20 mins than proceeded to our next destination which is Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens.
This time we hailed a Taxi that uses a meter instead. We went further than the first taxi but ended up paying RS60 only!! KNN Kena conned!! from the previous taxi driver.

See the clear blue sky

Green Green Grass

Some Statue

updating the Log Book..

We entered the garden after paying RS10/each for entrance fee. Walked around and sat down to rest our tired feets... Although the place wasnt as "proper , nice and orderly" as the one we have in Singapore we enjoyed lepaking at this place..

The sky was a clear blue with white marshmallow clouds hanging around, the day was sunny but the breeze was cool even in the afternoons... It was a real pleasant day .. we spent the whole day there basking under the shade... Today we did 3 things that we have not done before : 1) Chilled out at a Garden for a day 2) Sat on the grass just like Ram's so called "cows" 3) Prayed in the open field with the breeze brushing by us and sounds of birds chirping...

After we headed back into town at Brigade Road in search for dinner and to update our dearest friends and family our adventure thus far...

Another adventure awaits us...

Part 2 of Day 1: Arrival at Bangalore

Arrive @ 0145hrs at Bangalore airport. The H1N1 situation didnt make travelling a hassle so far. Just had to fill up a form & have our temperature taken. Mine was 97.7F and Ram's was 97.3F. I guess we were "normal", headed to the custom for clearance. Got out and was thinking how we are going to get to "Royal Regency Lodge" @ Chatram Road. Asked rate with the airport taxi @ RS900 converted was about SGD20+. Hmmmm that is our meal money for a day.... Got outside & was offered RS15/km, our destination was 45km as the guys claim & so we thought ok lets go! Got in and after we reached the carpark gantry & was asked to pay for the parking fees of RS100 ??? We got curious and felt cheated as these guys wasnt truthful. Got down after much hassle we walked back into the airport and check with the toursit informaiton which seems non-existing before when we just got out of the customs.
Got bus info from the nice lady at the counter and got to know we only need to pay about RS100-125 to get to Majestic Bus Terminal which is near our lodging. Al Hamdullilah! Treated ourselves to a Lemon Demon Tea RS70 and Cappucino RS70 while we wait for the 0415bus..
Finally reached the lodging at 0520hrs, gate was closed so we knocked. After 10 mins hassling the sleeping security guard that ignored whatever we said and kept mumbling "FULL ..." FULL...." FULL..." from under his sheets, he hesitantly open the gate.
Filled up some forms, paid RS1000 for deposit and then we were ushered to our room by the same hesitant security guard.
Room 152 was the number, room was quite decently clean, tipped the guy RS50 and shut the doors for the long awaited shower and proper sleep.

Day 1 - 29th June 2009

Started our journey finally!!!! Reach Singapore Budget terminal @ 1800hrs, the whole gang was there sending us off. Hang out for a while, ate Mac than got to know that the flight was delayed.
Our flight was scheduled for 2030 but was delayed to 2130hrs. Well we were thinking 1 hr wont hurt when we have 6 mths to "kill". THEN IT WAS FURTHER DELAYED TO 2340HRS!!!
Before we went in, took some photos, said our good byes and off we go for our trip of a LIFETIME......
